The Chiefs are reportedly re-signing JuJu Smith-Schuster to a one-year contract.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to re-sign wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to a one-year deal, according to multiple reports, with NFL Media being the first to break the news.

Smith-Schuster, who played a crucial role in the Chiefs' Super Bowl-winning season in 2022, recorded 78 receptions for 933 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season, plus 10 catches for 89 yards in the playoffs. He then joined the New England Patriots on a three-year, $25 million contract, but his performance was hampered by an ankle injury, leading to only 29 catches for 260 yards and one touchdown last season. The Patriots released him earlier this month.

Before his stint with the Chiefs, Smith-Schuster spent five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2018 with career-highs of 111 catches and 1,426 yards.

Smith-Schuster's return comes amid injury concerns for new teammate Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, who dislocated his shoulder in the Chiefs' first preseason game and may miss part of the regular season, and legal issues for Rashee Rice, who faces charges related to a spring automobile crash in Dallas.
